Presentations and Invited Talks

I believe communication is essential for scientists and engineers. I pride myself on engaging with my colleagues and community. When I can, I will record and upload my and my students’ talks. These videos are unedited from their original form and they’re not perfect; that’s how you know we’re real :).

IEEE RAS Conference on Automation Science and Engineering presentation on Comparative Analysis of Uncertainty Quantification Models in Active Learning for Efficient System Identification of Dynamical Systems, presented by Hans Mertens [2024]

AIAA Space Resources Seminar on Space Robotics, presented by Frances Zhu [2024]

Aerospace Conference Presentation on Jitter Characterization of HyTI Satellite, presented by Chase Urasaki [2024]

SmallSat Conference Presentation on Project POKE, presented by Kelly Ngo [2022]

SmallSat Conference Presentation on the Artemis CubeSat Kit, presented by Aksel Sloan [2022]

Hawaii Space Grant Research Symposium’s Parsimonious Kernels Underlying Gaussian Processes for Planetary Surface Exploration, presented by Ashten Akemoto [2022]

IEEE Aerospace Conference Talk on Informative Path Planning to Explore and Map Unknown Planetary Surfaces with Gaussian Processes [2022]

University of Hawai’i at Manoa Aerospace Engineering Program Seminar Series [2020]

To kick off the aerospace engineering seminar series at UH Manoa, I gave the inaugural seminar discussing how autonomous robots traverse extreme terrain. I also talk about resources on campus for students, faculty, and staff for creating a more vibrant aerospace community.

Invited Talk at University of Minnesota [2019]

I was so graciously invited to speak at University of Minnesota about my research, hosted by the Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics department. This talk sums up my PhD research on flux pinning technology, my future machine learning work, and my experience across different spacecraft platforms. I was losing my voice during this visit so forgive my progressively deteriorating monologue.

IEEE Aerospace Conference at Big Sky Montana [2019]

I presented two first-author projects. The audio is poor so please gather what you can visually. I am happy to send a PDF of the slides if you reach out to me.
